2007 Golf Outing a Huge Success
    9/12/2007
    Article By: Colleen Houk

The annual Sting Golf Outing took place on September 9th. The weather was outstanding and so was the company (and we don’t mean the mosquitoes) for our yearly event. Many people that haven’t seen each other since July enjoyed the Best Ball Scramble and the first time shotgun start (7:30am). The Gaunt group was finally dethroned this year by the Fearsome Foursome of Mike Landry, Mark Komp, Keven Jubeck and Pat Houk. The lunch and raffle was attended by many other non-golfers (you really don’t know what you are missing—and it has nothing to do with golf). The raffle items as usually were better than ever with the top prize of the Air-Tran tickets being scooped up by Sara Schadewald. A big thank-you goes out to all of our 2007 teams that put together the fantastic gift baskets. You really out did yourselves once again. Almost everyone walked away with a prize (except Teri—she says she never wins—guess she is only good at winning Gold Medals). We also want to send a special thank-you to Sue Minton for working so hard (in-between cart wheels) to make this outing run smoothly. All that attended were saddened that they didn’t get to see the award winning cheerleading routine by Sue Minton and Doug Applequist (guess that will have to be saved for the parent meeting since it has been banned from future JO National Tournaments……figure that). Many were heard to be saying as they left to watch the end of the (1st of the season) Packer game............. “We wish that we could do this twice a year!!!” Sue, get busy your public has spoken.

The rumor mills are buzzing and as many of you have heard, Milwaukee Sting is one of the country’s top clubs that is exploring alternative events for our members that are more competitive and more financially feasible for our families. No final decision has been made or will be made prior to a meeting in mid-September of the leadership of these clubs. We will announce our tentative schedules at our October informational meeting.

[Editors Note: The meeting Jenny Hahn is referring to is for JVDA. For more info about JVDA, click Here.]
