New Digs - No Pun intended
1/16/2006

The first of the 2006 Sting Open events took place this past weekend at the home of Sting's new office at Waynz World. It was a great weekend of play in a beautiful new 8 court facility in Big Bend, WI. Players from Northern Wisconsin to Illinois helped break in the new facility on both Saturday and Sunday. A number of our own Sting teams were also in attendence.

Sting 13 Red was the first Sting team to bring home the hardware from the new digs winning their division on Saturday. On the way to the finals they faced off against another home team 12 Gold, in what was probably the most exciting and fun match of the day. Sting 13 Red held strong but not before being taken to task by our little ones in a three game thriller. They kept battling tough through the finals and came or should we say 'stayed' home with the gold. Great job ladies and also a big congrats to a great group of 12's.

Here are our opening results for more teams that took the court for the first time this season:

  • 18 Black - 3rd Rockford Challenge
  • 16 Red - 8th Sting Open II (17's)
  • 17 Red - 3rd Sting Open II (18's)
  • 15 Red - 1st Warhawk Open
  • 13 Gold - 2nd Sting Open II
  • 13 Black - 3rd Sting Open II
  • 13 Red - 1st Sting Open
  • 12 Black - 3rd Sting Open
  • 11 Gold - 3rd Sting Open II (12's)

14 Black Crushes at Madison Crush
    1/13/2006
Article By: Proud Mom - Jenny Beck

The 14 Black team proved themselves worthy of medals on Sunday in Madison. While playing a 5-1, the team passed, set and killed the ball consistently against team after team. Blocking fun was had by all and beautiful sets were slammed to the floor. The team was a backboard to those on the opposing team consistently putting to rest any play they chose. Coaches Jerad and Nicole guided their team with skill, finese and humor. Congratulations to all team members for their hard work, tough play and team spirit!
