The Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club is proud to be celebrating its 18th year.The Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club is incorporated as a tax-exempt, 501(c3), charitable organization. Milwaukee Sting exists primarily to provide an opportunity for highly motivated volleyball players to develop and enhance their skills through participation USA Volleyball’s Junior Program. Quality practice time, under the direction of one of the best junior coaching staffs in the country, and the chance to compete against high level teams from around the country make the Milwaukee Sting experience truly worthwhile.

For the 2006-2007 season, Milwaukee Sting is fielding 20 teams in age groups, ranging from 11-and-under through 18-and-under.

Our goals are:

  • Provide intense & competitive practice opportunities
  • Participate in regional and national tournaments
  • Provide the highest quality coaching staff in the state
  • Offer and opportunity, through an organized fund raising program, for every girl to participate fully
  • Give every player the chance to be “seen” by college coaches
  • Facilitate communication between our athletes and college coaches
  • Teams are selected through an open tryout process conducted in November.Practices are held 2-4 times per week, at either Milwaukee Vincent High School, Milwaukee Lutheran, or Waukesha County Technical College, or Waynz World Sports Complex. Our season runs through the Junior National Championships usually held around the 1st week in July.

    Why Milwaukee Sting?

    Our success over the past several seasons has made Milwaukee Sting a national power. Our athletes are known by college coaches to be well trained and highly experienced. Since 1993, we have sent nearly more than 50 teams to the National Championships and have had over 40 players honored as All Americans/Junior Nationals All Tournament. At least one team has place in the top three in each of the last 11 years. 2002 was a breakthrough year with 3 teams winning medals at Nationals including our 4th & 5th Silver medals. We also have two National Championships titles from the 2001 and 2004 National Championships at the 17 and 16 Open levels. At least 50 Sting players have gone on to NCAA Division 1 schools, at least 13 to Division 2 schools, and at least 10 to Division 3 schools. Sting Alumni have been NCAA All-Americans as well as have gone on to play professionally.
